Individual Psychotherapy
–
a space for you
Individual psychotherapy is a process in which you meet with a therapist in order to get to know yourself better and understand what is happening in your inner world. During the sessions, in a safe and confidential atmosphere, you can take a closer look at your emotions, thoughts, behavioral patterns, as well as the difficulties you are facing.
You don’t need to have a “big problem” to benefit from therapy. Sometimes it’s enough to feel that something is holding you back, that you’re stuck, or that you simply want to better understand who you are and what you need. Psychotherapy is not only support in times of crisis – it is also a path of personal growth and of building a deeper connection with yourself.
When is it worth considering individual therapy?
Individual psychotherapy can help if you:
- experience long-term stress, tension, anxiety, or fear,
- feel low, struggle to enjoy life, or experience symptoms of depression,
- deal with low self-esteem, lack of confidence, or difficulty making decisions,
- go through an emotional, life, relational, or professional crisis,
- have difficulties in close relationships – recurring conflicts, feeling misunderstood or hurt,
- have gone through traumatic events that still affect your life (e.g. PTSD, C-PTSD, ACA),
- struggle with anger outbursts, difficulty expressing emotions, or chronic bodily tension,
- have trouble setting boundaries and often feel that others cross them,
- feel emptiness, confusion, lack of meaning, loneliness, or helplessness,
- suffer from psychosomatic ailments or autoimmune diseases with possible emotional roots,
- struggle with eating issues – emotional eating, inability to lose weight despite efforts, or using food to regulate emotions,
- want to better understand yourself, your needs, and learn a more supportive way of relating to yourself.
What does individual psychotherapy look like?
Each therapy is unique, because each person brings their own story, needs, and pace. But there are some common elements worth knowing:
- Individual approach – the therapist adapts their way of working to you and your situation, using methods that are most helpful for you.
- Safe space – sessions are confidential. You can talk about anything, without fear of judgment. This is a space where you have the right to be exactly as you are.
- Regularity – sessions usually take place once a week and last 50 minutes. You can choose in-person or online, depending on what is more convenient for you.
- Process – psychotherapy is not a quick fix, but a journey. Over time, you learn to notice what is happening within you, understand your emotions, and change unhelpful patterns. You build new ways of thinking, reacting, and relating – more supportive and healthier ones.
What can you gain from therapy?
Psychotherapy is not only relief from suffering. It is also an opportunity for:
- deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and reactions,
- better coping with everyday stress and life challenges,
- working through past experiences that still weigh on you,
- greater self-acceptance and kindness toward yourself,
- rebuilding or creating satisfying relationships,
- a sense of inner peace, balance, and meaning,
- moving from survival mode to truly living – more consciously and in tune with yourself.
The first step
You don’t need to know right away whether psychotherapy is for you. All it takes is curiosity, a willingness to explore, and openness to change. The first free consultation is an opportunity to meet, talk about your needs, and see whether this form of support is right for you.
